Baggage Unpacked

Baggage Unpacked

I am a woman, and yet a child

We are molded together

In an almost inconceivable manner

With me, I carry baggage from yesterday

and hopes and dreams for tomorrow

One of these days, I must unpack my baggage

sort through it, and discard what no longer fits.

With change comes conflict

but left unpacked

the I, that I was

will suffocate

the I that I inspire to become.
